How It All Began

In February 2017, we built our first WordClock – back then still a basement project, developed entirely in our spare time alongside founder and tinkerer Frithjof Maschke’s full-time job. It was simply about proving what’s possible – and what can be achieved. About breaking away from everything old to create something truly brilliant.

We worked hard and built as many as we could. Then, in September, we exhibited our creations for the first time at a trade fair. … And wow, we were overwhelmed with interest!

Our goal isn’t just to keep up – we aim to lead the way and set the standard.

Just as TVs evolved through incredible innovation into app-controlled smart TVs with far more features and comfort, and our once bulky mobile phones transformed into powerful, design-driven classics that connect us to the world – and do so much more than just make calls…

Our wall clocks? Yes, exactly. It’s time to say goodbye to those clunky childhood timepieces and discover our philosophy. We’re breaking away from outdated clock clichés – and leading the charge.

We can’t really think of much it has in common with other clocks. But then again, creating a clock like every other was never our goal.

We didn’t care what others thought a clock should be. We focused entirely on comfort and design – and in doing so, discovered a whole new philosophy of timekeeping.

Our most important resource

Our most important resource is ourselves. Our team is made up of diverse individuals who bring together the best from around the world. What truly matters is that everyone can rely on one another without hesitation and shares a relentless drive to move the company forward.

There’s no fear of making mistakes here, nor of losing our place at the top. Every single team member gives their all – driven by the joy of winning.

No one is afraid to try something new, even if it doesn’t exist elsewhere or doesn’t seem necessary – because we’re already leading the way. But our will to keep pushing forward always wins.

Building sustainably

We’re a young team, so sustainability is naturally a core part of what we do. We support schools, kindergartens, and of course, students. We’ve even created a mini version of the WordClock that kids can assemble themselves in class – helping them learn about electronics, discover their strengths, and build self-confidence.

We’ve never profited from these initiatives; in fact, we’ve often covered the costs ourselves – especially in other countries. For us, sustainability also means reducing plastic wherever possible and crafting the entire inner structure of the clock from untreated wood – a rapidly renewable resource.

In partnership with DHL, we use their ECO shipping option to ensure the planet’s limited resources aren’t consumed too quickly or unnecessarily.
